![]() The drill is actually the world’s only giant top-spin, manufactured back in 2002 and known as Tomb Raider: The Ride until 2008. Instead, they lost their lives to the drill and the mine shut-down shortly afterwards.ĭriven by their own greed, park guests are now ignoring warnings (including one from the miner’s spirit) and preparing to board the drill themselves, hoping to succeed where the past miners failed. ![]() Perhaps as punishment for their greed, no miner survived the horrific accident. Upon the initial test run of the drill, something went wrong and the machine malfunctioned. This contraption would plow through solid rock as if it was paper, taking the miners deeper than ever before. In order to drill quicker and more efficiently, the miners constructed a massive drilling machine within one of the mine’s largest caverns. The numerous 13’s was obviously a bad omen, but the miners ignored it and let greed surpass their common sense and instincts. The team responsible for digging through the rock was composed of 13 miners, all ready to strike it rich. The character, the spirit of a miner, tells guests the mine’s story: 113 years ago, just before the turn of the century, Mine 13 was being excavated for gold. Guests are sealed into a small cavern and plunged into darkness before a ghostly apparition appears. The preshow room, formerly home to a video starring Laura Craft, is now used to set-up the story for guests. Everything is covered in a thick layer of dust, suggesting that the mine hasn’t been used for its true purpose in quite some time. Guests pass various pieces of mining equipment, including carts, wheels, and axes. The adventure begins in the queue, a dark and dank cavern lit by flickering lamps. Utilizing the same ride system and queue line as The Crypt, the new Maniac Mine thrill ride will take riders on an exciting trip through a cursed mine. My home park is Kings Island, and my new attraction is “Maniac Mine”- a complete overhaul for the former Tomb Raider: The Ride attraction, currently known as “The Crypt”. I will state however, that if some contestants do not post, the format and weekly challenges will change. Without any further rambling, Theme Park Apprentice 2 begins NOW. Finally, every design you submit must have a name. If it is a show, make sure to include the length as well. Make sure you give a good, detailed description of the story and attraction experience. The only other rule is that you must stick with your theme park throughout the remainder of this opening phase which will consist of three other hometown challenges. In this phase, you may NOT include any pictures whatsoever. What that mean is that it can be a show, a ride, a roller coaster, etc. In this challenge, you will be designing an attraction. Our first set of challenges will all be based around your hometown theme park. So the 7 votes will decide the winner of the competition. We will then conclude with the top 3-7 contestants and yours truly voting in the finale. Towards the end, only 1 person will be fired a week. Once 12 have been fired, we will then enter with the site voting. ![]() In the hometown heroes challenges, I will be eliminating 3 contestants each week. Any late entries will be automatically disqualified, no exceptions. We are able to see the time and day it was posted so be aware of that. ![]() The deadline is the end of Saturday, according to the websites time, which is Pacific Time. Welcome to the first Challenge of Theme Park Apprentice 2. ![]()
